A Huge Thank You

As some of you will know, in September I had nine of the poems from my first book “From the corners of a wounded mind” (Corners) selected for an anthology of war poetry called “Heroes” – 100 poems from a new generation of war poets, by a panel of experts including Carol Ann Duffy the current Poet Laureate.

John Jeffcock, a former Captain in the Coldstream Guards and the editor of “Heroes” was then kind enough to pass a copy of my book “Corners” to Roger Field a literary agent who then took it to Mark Booth at Hodder and Stoughton, within a week they had offered to buy it for a considerable sum. Although they did want a lot more out of me for the money, and as a result the book has now swelled from its original 18,000 to over 93,000 words and is due to be published as a 400 page “Royal” hardback under its new title – “A Hell for Heroes” in October this year,.

I also have my own author page at one of Europe’s biggest publishers, and am now starting work on my new book, the first in a series of four. However, none of this would have been possible without the support and encouragement of the wonderful Tim Roux and my brother and sister writer’s at Night Reading. It’s extremely rare these days to find an internet site that lives up to its strap line “First the taster, then the paperback” it’s also unusual to find an online community that supports each other as passionately as those at “Night”

So to ALL OF YOU at “Night” and especially Tim, I just want to say A HUGE THANK YOU.
